I've been dreaming of taking a summer vacation lately. It's been years since we've been able to get away. There's always something going on with the kids that they just can't miss. Summer goes by so fast, and before I know it, it's over.
I'm hoping to be able to work a vacation in next summer. I hear the Outer Banks in North Carolina are a wonderful location for a summer vacation. With their beautiful beaches and gorgeous rental properties, I can see myself there already.
I've been checking out Carolina Designs Realty to find a rental property on the Outer Banks. They have thousands of images and floor plans to look at to find just the right property. Their rental properties are located right on the beach, which appeals to me. I don't want to have to travel anywhere once I get there. I plan on planting myself on the beach and staying there for the entire vacation.
So hopefully, this time next year, I'll be sipping something fruity under an umbrella on the beaches of the Outer Banks in North Carolina!

Mosquito Tip
I don't know about the area you live, but the mosquito population around here is booming. Those little buggers are everywhere, making it very difficult to enjoy any outdoor activity no matter what time of day it is.
This morning, someone told me a tip to help with the problem. Now, I don't know if it actually works or not, but it's worth a shot. I'm going to try it as soon as I get to the store.
Here's the tip:
Put original Listerine in a spray bottle and spray the area you are going to be working/playing in. Don't spray it on yourself. All that does is give the pests minty-fresh breath. Spray the grass and surroundings in the area you'll be in. It's supposed to keep the mosquitoes away so you can enjoy being outside.

Incontinence and Overactive Bladder
Urinary incontinence affects over twelve million American adults. There are different causes for different kinds of urinary incontinence. Stress incontinence, caused by coughing, sneezing, or laughing affects women more so than men. Overactive bladder, caused by spasms of the urinary muscles leading to an urgency to urinate, effects both men and women.
The main thing to remember is you're not alone. Although it's a personal, private problem, there are things you can do to make living with incontinence easier. Stock up on quality pads made for incontinence. Menstrual pads are not the same, and do not work as well. Practice Kegel exercises. Men can do them too. Kegel exercises help to strengthen the muscles used to stop the flow of urine. Another good tip: don't wear light colored clothing that may show stains easier. Black is timeless and doesn't show fluid as easily.
For night time security, one might consider using adult diapers. Although the thought might not be too appealing, the peace of mind is worth it. Some things just can't be avoided, and if wearing them means a good night's sleep, then you have to do, what you have to do.
You don't have to be embarrassed by incontinence. It's a common problem as we grow older, and knowing that there are ways to help prevent embarrassing accidents makes life a whole lot easier. Do your research. Talk to your doctor. You don't have to suffer alone.

Campfire Safety

With Summer upon us, campers are heading out for weekends of family fun. A campfire is a necessity, at least for our family, when we go camping. There's nothing better than sitting by a campfire at night, sipping on a cold drink, eating smores, and just enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. While a campfire is lots of fun, there's a right way and a wrong way to have one. If not done properly, a campfire can easily get out of control and devastate the land and people in its path.
Here are a few good tips for having a safe and fun campfire while on a camping trip or even in your own back yard.
Learn how to safely start a fire. Never use flammable liquids to ignite or keep your fire burning. This means, avoid gasoline, diesel fuel, lighter fluid, and other dangerous fuels.
Only start a campfire in a fire pit or fire ring that is made of solid construction.
Avoid starting a fire underneath low-hanging branches or shrubbery. Fires can often flame higher then you anticipate.
Don't stack spare firewood too close. If you've recently gathered some, store it upwind so that sparks don't fly into your pile.
Don't allow children and pets near the campfire and never leave them unsupervised.
Teach kids how to stop, drop, and roll if their clothing catches fire. Have a fire extinguisher on hand for emergencies.
Keep your fire away from anything flammable, such as dry grass, tents, paper plates and napkins, and camping gear.
Be aware that hot embers can re-ignite the fire if strong winds are blowing. Shuffle the fire and make sure it's out before retiring.
Always have on hand things to put out your fire such as water, a shovel, and a fire extinguisher and make sure your fire is completely out before leaving it unattended.

Who Doesn't Like Free Stuff?
I love free stuff! Who doesn't, right? Getting something for free makes me feel like I just won the lottery!
I just joined this really awesome site that allows me to take advantage of thousands of dollars worth of free merchandise and services. I'm not kidding. The stuff is truly free! And on top of getting tons of stuff for free, I get to make money in the process! How great is that?
I've checked it out and done my homework, and this site is for real. I don't have the time or the money to spend on scam sites that take my money and never deliver the goods. This site isn't like that at all. I pay a monthly fee of $9.95, and have access to thousands of freebies. The monthly fee is a month-t0-month deal, so if you're not happy with it, you can cancel at any time. Also, they are so sure you'll love it, there's a money back guarantee!
On top of all the great free deals, there's the opportunity to make money, too. The system is pretty much automated. All you do is use your free website that's given to you when you sign up, tell others about the great savings, and have them sign up to join your team. It's all so simple. Even if you decide not to promote the site and just use it for the freebies, your savings outweigh your monthly fee by hundreds of dollars each month. It's a win-win situation, believe me!
Now, I wouldn't promote something I didn't think was worth it. Like I said, I don't have the time, and I definitely don't have the money to waste on scams that do not work. I'm very leery of any Internet "get-rich-quick" or "work-from-home" deal. This is neither. You'll make money, if you want. If you don't, just take advantage of the freebies. It's totally up to you, But, I think it's such a great deal, and making money with it is just a bonus!
Take some time to have a look. Beware, though. If you join, it can be quite addicting! Getting free stuff is lots of fun, and you can spend hours just browsing through and signing up for all the free stuff!

Which Networking Cable For The Job?
1. What is the difference between CAT-5, CAT-5e, CAT-6, CAT-7...
The Simple Answer:
CAT-5 is rated to 100M
CAT-5e is rated to 350M
CAT-6 and CAT6e is rated to 550M or 1000M depending on your source
CAT-7 is supposedly rated to 700M or presumably 1000M
Today there is no approved CAT-6 or CAT-7. While some folks are selling products they call Level 6 or 7, there aren't even specs for them, making CAT5e
the best available option. CAT-6 cable is being made with 23 gauge conductor wire as opposed to the slightly smaller 24 gauge for CAT-5e and also has a separator to handle crosstalk better.
Both CAT-5 and CAT-5e have 100 ohm impedance and electrical characteristics supporting transmissions up to 100 MHz. The differences between CAT-5 and CAT-5e show in all aspects of performance: capacitance, frequency, resistance, attenuation, and NEXT. CAT-5e components were designed with high-speed gigabyte Ethernet in mind. While CAT-5 components may function to some degree in a gigabyte Ethernet, they perform below standard during high-data transfer scenarios. CAT-5e cables work with ATM and gigabyte speed products. Simply, if you are using a 100Mbps switch, get CAT-5e cable instead of CAT-5.
CAT-5e is formally called ANSI/TIA/EIA 568A-5 or simply Cat-5e (the e stands for 'enhanced'). CAT-5e is completely backward compatible with current CAT-5 equipment. The enhanced electrical performance of CAT-5e ensures that the cable will support applications that require additional bandwidth, such as gigabyte Ethernet or analog video.
2. What is the difference between the types of cable - UTP, Patch, Stranded, Solid...
UTP stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair. It is a cable type with pairs of twisted insulated copper conductors contained in a single sheath. UTP cables are the most common type of cabling used in desktop communications applications.
Stranded cable has several small gauge wires in each separate insulation sleeve. Stranded cable is more flexible, making it more suitable for shorter distances, such as patch cords.
Solid has one larger gauge wire in each sleeve. Solid cable has better electrical performance than stranded cable and is traditionally used for inside walls and through ceilings - any type of longer run of cable.
Patch Cables are made of stranded copper conductors for flexibility. This construction is great for the flexing and the frequent changes that occur at the wall outlet or patch panel. The stranded conductors do not transmit data signals as far as solid cable. The TIA/EIA 568A which is the governing standard regarding commercial cabling systems limits the length of patch cables to 10 meters in total length. Does that mean you can't use stranded cable for longer runs? Not at all, we've seen installations running stranded cable over 100 feet with no problems - it's just not recommended. This is why we don't sell patch cables over 30 feet in length.
3. What is the difference between 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T?
10BASE-T is the IEEE standard that defines the requirement for sending information at 10 Mbps on unshielded twisted-pair cabling, and defines various aspects of running Ethernet on this cabling.
100BASE-T is the IEEE standard that defines the requirement for sending information at 100 Mbps on unshielded twisted-pair cabling, and defines various aspects of running baseband Ethernet on this cabling.
1000BASE-T (also called gigabyte Ethernet) is the IEEE standard that defines the requirement for sending information at 1000 Mbps on unshielded twisted-pair cabling, and defines various aspects of running baseband Ethernet on this cabling
4. What is a cross-over cable?
A cross-over cable is a segment of cable that crosses over pins 1&2 and 3&6. This cable is normally used to connect two PCs without the use of a hub, or can be used to cascade two hubs without using an up link port. Some DSL modems require a crossover cable to the PC or hub they are connected to.
5. What are the maximum lengths for cables?
For Solid UTP:
Fast Ethernet 100baseT 100 Meters (328 feet)
Twisted Pair Ethernet 10baseT 100 Meters (328 feet)
Recommended maximum lengths for Patch Cables made from stranded cable:
Fast Ethernet 100baseT 10 Meters (33 feet)
Twisted Pair Ethernet 10baseT 10 Meters (33 feet)
6. Is CAT-5e backwards compatible?
Yes it works with any 10BaseT or 100BaseT network cards and hubs.
CAT-5 is also upwardly compatible with CAT-5e, however your network throughput will only be as fast as the slowest part.
7. Can I run CAT-5e Ethernet cable outside?
CAT-5e cable is not rated for outdoor use, however it can generally be used without a problem. If possible, run the cable through some kind of conduit to prevent moisture or an attractive site for lightning to strike. You should be able to find gray PVC conduit suitable for cable at any hardware store. Remember, 100 Meters is your max distance, without some kind of hub, bridge or amplification.
8. What is the operating temp for CAT-5e cable?
Operating Temp for CAT-5e cable: -10C to 60C
The Simple Answer:
CAT-5 is rated to 100M
CAT-5e is rated to 350M
CAT-6 and CAT6e is rated to 550M or 1000M depending on your source
CAT-7 is supposedly rated to 700M or presumably 1000M

Homemade Remedies
An enema of warm water and common table salt was used to relieve constipation as well as relieve stomach viruses and intestinal infections.
Castor Oil works well on insect bites as well as headaches and upset stomachs.
Apply warm salt water on a burn and it will help reduce pain as well as prevent infection.
Honey helps relieve chest congestion…you can also heat it with a touch of whiskey and apple cider vinegar to help heal cold and flu symptoms.
You can create your own homemade cough syrup with a mixture of sugar and whiskey…heat till thickened.
To relieve colic, dissolve a tablespoon of baking soda in water; do not give to children under 12.
Salt and warm water applied into ear with a dropper dissolves wax buildup and reduces ear pain.
To reduce Garlic breath or bad breath for that matter, chew on some fresh parsley or fresh celery. There are also teas you can drink to help reduce bad mouth odors.
A tablespoon of peanut butter may very well cure hiccups.
One old time remedy for asthma was to breathe in salty water up your nose several times a day; also good for relieving nasal congestion and avoiding sinus infections if snorted with a touch of baking soda.
A mixture of warm honey, whiskey, and apple cider vinegar is an old time remedy for arthritic bones.
For extreme body odor, pour a cup of pure tomato juice in your bath water and soak half hour. This procedure works on pets as well.
To relieve itching on scalp or body, apply apple cider vinegar. Rinse off after application.
A warm Castor oil pack applied on soar muscles will relieve pain. For better penetration use a heating pad over applied oil
Castor oil mixed with baking soda is an excellent treatment for ingrown toenails as well as warts. Simply mix equal amounts, leave on half hour and rinse clean.
Castor oil may be taken as an antitoxin as well as may be useful in the battle against influenza...works to strengthen the immune system.
Rub a lemon slice on skin to instantly reduce oils… …also works well for age spots and lightening hair.
A note on Body Care: Do not over-exfoliate your skin…it may cause over drying and flakiness. Always remember to moisturize after exfoliation…especially for drier skins. When using astringents, it is best to use alcohol free products. Using a cotton washcloth with a mild soap daily is more than enough exfoliation for the body.
Foot care: If you suffer from dry ruff feet, simply put them in warm water and Epsom mineral salts for approximately 30 minutes..remove and rinse with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Apply pure vitamin E moisturizer or break apart a vitamin E capsule and rub all over foot and ankle area. Put on a pair of socks and closed shoes. Repeat for about a month and feet will look and feel more supple.
This also works with discolored and brittle toe nails due to over use of nail polishes, which by the way are not healthy for toenails. The structure of toenails is different from that of finger nails. By constant application of polish to toenails, you are not allowing the nail to breathe causing a lot of the fungus infections we see today. A comfortable shoe will help with your foot restoration process.
Bubble Bath Gels are the leading cause of genital irritations. Use sparingly and make sure to rinse yourself as well as your children; try to purchase one with minimal additives.
An enema of warm water and common table salt was used to relieve constipation as well as relieve stomach viruses and intestinal infections.
Epsom Salts may be used as an internal laxative. It increases the water in your intestines thus promoting pressure leading to a bowel movement. Read instructions on box concerning measurements and usage for children… remember, laxatives in any form should only be used as temporary constipation relief.
Epsom salts is excellent in a warm bath for sprains and bruises, arthritis, and stiff joints…as well as muscle aches.
Epsom Salts bath will not only relax your body but also promotes healthy blood circulation.
Epsom Salts will also help with pain of insect bites as well as draw out splinters in skin.
Epsom Salts will deep clean your pores as well as soften skin.
Epsom Salts should be used only in moderation. Read package instructions carefully.
Honey added to any cold drink will energize you.
Honey added to a hot tea in the evening will promote restful sleep.
For indigestion, take a tablespoon of honey to relieve acid buildup.
Honey has been used to treat heart disease... using it as a sweetener every day is quite beneficial for your heart.
Honey is wonderful for children as a disinfectant for minor skin wounds as well as promotes healing.
Use on lips for both children and adults to treat dryness and chapped skin.
Lemon juice can be mixed in with most drinks as an antioxidant.
Lemon is great for bad breathe as well as helping to fight bacterial infections, which is why it is often used in hot teas when you have a cold.
Lemon can also be applied on minor body fungi.
Lemon oil makes a delightful fragrance for the body and may be mixed with perfume body oils for that extra fresh scent that lasts all day.
Lemon juice was used in olden days to help reduce slight fevers as well as great in the treatment of sore throats and mouth sores.
SALT is cheap as well as useful; as with baking soda, it may be added to other natural cleaners as a mild abrasive.
1) Salt makes a great antibiotic for minor scrapes and cuts.
2) Salt makes an excellent gargle mixed with warm water…
mix equal parts salt and warm water.
3) If you run out of toothpaste, salt may be used in place of your regular toothpaste… for added whiteness, use along with baking soda
Salt may be mixed with honey as a scrub mask for oilier skin.
Salt and beaten egg-whites may be used as a quick scrub. Sugar is often used with honey or beaten egg-whites for drier skins…milder. Never apply a mask or scrub around eye area! The tissue of the eye area is thinner and weaker than the rest of your face and neck.
For chapped lips, scrub gently with honey…then apply a gentle moisturizer such as olive oil or coconut oil.
Olive oil is a wonderful moisturizer for both hair, body, and face as well as a great make-up remover.
Olive oil may also be used as a hair conditioner for dry scalp and/or dry, lifeless, chemically treated hair.
Olive Oil may also be taken for constipation.
The following is a simple all natural daily facial cleansing regiment handed down by women in my family.
1) Apply olive oil. Wipe clean.
2) Beat the whites of an egg and apply all over face and neck area; let dry. Your face will tighten. Rinse off with warm water. Oilier skins should leave on for a longer amount of time and rinse off with cold water.
3) Mix equal parts honey and sugar…apply all over face and neck area. Massage in circular motion avoiding the eye area; then simply rinse off with warm water. Oilier skins may mix honey and salt then rinse off with cold water.
4) Wash with a mild soap and warm water.
5) On a cotton ball apply rose water over face and neck area. Let dry.
6) Finish off by applying a gentle moisturizer.

Staying Sane While Raising Children
I am having a stressful day with my children. The younger two have fought and argued all day long. The oldest just got home and has managed to tick me off already and has retired to his room, pouting.
It's just another day in my household. Nothing unusual here. Some days I can take it all with hardly a blink of the eye. Then, on days like today, I seriously wonder what I was thinking having three children. Nothing new.
So, in an effort to make myself feel a little better, I found this list of things that each mother should know about how to stay sane while raising children. Apparently, I'm not the only one, and I'm sure I'm not the last.
1. With every New Year there is hope your child will decide not to pick his nose in public.
2. Vegetables are good for children, but so are fruits, so if your child will only eat one and not the other, it's OK. They will grow. The child will be fine. Don't bother yourself with a power struggle.
3. Once again, babies cry for no reason, that's their job. I mean what else is there for them to do when they're three months old?
4. It's great if your child is 2 and knows her ABCs. It doesn't mean anything in the long educational plan, though. It's just a song. So if your other child doesn't know them, relax. No one alphabetizes until third grade. He/she has time.
5. Hyperactivity can also be a sign of an intelligent child bored out of their mind. Think about it.
6. Babies do not need to be bathed every day. Keep that skin soft as long as possible.
7. A 9-year-old is an attitude waiting to happen. A 10-year-old is an attitude, and an 11-year-old knows how to play the attitude to her favor. A teen-ager is a total different being.
8. If a child is reading, whether it's comic books or "Moby Dick," he's reading — be happy.
9. A child cannot catch a cold from the cold. So if you are like me and have a daughter who goes out in sub-zero weather with only a sweat shirt and never gets sick, count yourself lucky and relax. Soon, enough, she'll discover fashionable jackets and then you'll begging for the old days.
10. Forget the "terrible twos" myth. Wait until they're 4 and have a vocabulary. There is no comparison.
11. If your child swears and it's at an appropriate time, like when they bang their head on a wall, give them the riot act about keeping those words to themselves, then smile, at least they aren't walking around saying swears for no reason. Could be worse.
12. Any stressful event could be worse. Relax and hope it won't be.
13. Low-riding, hip-hugging jeans are what every girl is wearing. Try to breathe and just make sure your daughter doesn't have her underwear showing.
14. Tell your teen-age daughter that bra straps are not meant to be seen. Ever!
15. It's really great when your toddler is potty-trained, but remember; now there's nothing between their bottoms and your favorite chair.
16. Your son is 13, and he likes Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. It's a mystery.
17. Girls can play football too.
18. When your daughter or son asks to dye their hair blue, let them. They'll figure out eventually how silly they look and beg to get the dye out. If not, maybe they're destined for salon work or a punk rock band. Both have some positive points.
19. I don't know why a 1-year-old wants to read books at 2 a.m. I just don't.
20. A dirty kid is a happy kid. Hands down.
21. No matter how cute that boy looks in a suit during the holidays, he'd rather be in sweats. Pack some.
22. No matter how many pounds you've gained during pregnancy, I've gained more. It's depressing.
23. Eight bags of jellybeans during Easter will cause extreme weight gain during pregnancy. Just a thought.
24. Nursing is hard work. You have to feed the baby all the time because breast milk digests quickly in the baby's tummy. Remember that so you'll be prepared for having an infant attached to you for a long time and it won't seem like such a surprise.
25. When dad watches the baby so you can go to the store, it's not baby-sitting.
26. You can go out and leave the baby with a baby-sitter before she turns 12. It's been done before with success.
27. Remember the good 'ol days of sleeping until 10 a.m. They're over. You have children.
28. Just because you have four children and you're not thinking about having a fifth, the pregnancy test does not lie. Oh dear.
29. Here's your mantra: "It's OK, it's OK. I'm going insane, but it's OK. Really, it's OK.

Tornado Safety
Unfortunately, along with the arrival of summer, is the onset of severe weather and tornadoes. Tornadoes are one of Mother Nature's most severe and damaging storms. A tornado can level a structure in a matter of seconds, and wreak havoc for miles.
Tornadoes appear as funnel-shaped clouds in the sky. Once touched down, wind speeds can reach up to 300 mph. A path of destruction can be as wide as a mile, and extend as much as 50 miles or more.
Some tornadoes are clearly visible with debris flying around the base. Others are can be hidden by rain or low hanging clouds. At times, tornadoes develop so rapidly, that little or not warning is available.
The wind may die down and the air become still just before a tornado hits, and usually occur on the trailing edge of a thunderstorm. It's not unusual to see clear, blue skies behind a tornado.
Some Tornado Facts:
They may strike quickly, with little or no warning.
They may appear nearly transparent until dust and debris are picked up or a cloud forms in the funnel.
The average tornado moves Southwest to Northeast, but tornadoes have been known to move in any direction.
The average forward speed of a tornado is 30 MPH, but may vary from stationary to 70 MPH.
Tornadoes can accompany tropical storms and hurricanes as they move onto land.
Waterspouts are tornadoes that form over water.
Tornadoes are most frequently reported east of the Rocky Mountains during spring and summer months.
Peak tornado season in the southern states is March through May; in the northern states, it is late spring through early summer.
Tornadoes are most likely to occur between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., but can occur at any time.
What To Do In The Event Of A Tornado:
If you are in a structure (e.g. residence, small building, school, nursing home, hospital, factory, shopping center, high-rise building)
then: Go to a pre-designated shelter area such as a safe room, basement, storm cellar, or the lowest building level. If there is no basement, go to the center of an interior room on the lowest level (closet, interior hallway) away from corners, windows, doors, and outside walls. Put as many walls as possible between you and the outside. Get under a sturdy table and use your arms to protect your head and neck. Do not open windows.
If you are in a vehicle, trailer, or mobile home
then: Get out immediately and go to the lowest floor of a sturdy, nearby building or a storm shelter. Mobile homes, even if tied down, offer little protection from tornadoes.
If you are outside with no shelter
then: Lie flat in a nearby ditch or depression and cover your head with your hands. Be aware of the potential for flooding.Do not get under an overpass or bridge. You are safer in a low, flat location.Never try to outrun a tornado in urban or congested areas in a car or truck. Instead, leave the vehicle immediately for safe shelter.Watch out for flying debris. Flying debris from tornadoes causes most fatalities and injuries.

Arranging Living Room Furniture

When deciding how to arrange your living room, an easy way to start is to find a focal point and build the rest of the living room around it. Think as the focal point as an anchor to the room and place everything else in front of this important design element.
1. Any large piece of furniture, a fireplace, or a large window can serve as a focal point. Build your furniture design around it. Move other pieces of furniture away from the wall to create intimate conversation areas.
2. Place chairs no more than eight feet apart to encourage conversation.
3. Place a table beside every seating possible. Adding a lamp beside every seating is a good idea, too.
4. Place a coffee table at least fourteen to eighteen inches away from the sofa to allow for ample legroom.
5. Use side tables that are as high as the arm of the chair or sofa they are next to.
6. Walkways should be at least eighteen inches wide to allow for ease of movement through the room.

Manage Stress To Stay Healthy
Let's face it, stress is a major part of our every day lives. High levels of stress can wreak havoc on your emotional well being as well as cause physical health problems. It lessens your ability to think clearly, function productively, and enjoy life.
Learning how to manage stress, will bring mind and body back into balance. Positive attitude, learning healthy ways to cope, and changing the way you deal with stress, will break its hold on your life.
Stress Management: Avoid Unnecessary Stress
Learn how to say no: Know your limits and stick to them. Don't let anyone talk you into doing something you know you can't, or don't want, to do.
Avoid people who stress you out: If you know that someone is always pushing your buttons and consistently causing you stress, limit the amount of time you spend with that person or end the relationship entirely.
Take control of your surroundings: If the noise from the TV is making you anxious, turn it off. If your children's arguing is driving you up the wall, separate them until they can behave. You have control over your own surroundings most of the time.
Avoid topics of conversation that push your buttons: If you are constantly arguing with the same person about the same things, don't bring the subject up. Either that, or leave the room when the conversation turns to that subject. If you get upset over certain subjects, try to avoid them all together.
Cut down on your to-do list: Don't stretch yourself too thin. If you find that you have too much on your list, make the decision between what should be done, and what must be done. Move the shoulds to the bottom of the list or eliminate them entirely.
Don't bottle up your feelings: Keeping your feelings inside only builds resentment which leads to more stress. The situation doesn't change. Express yourself in a direct, respectful way. Talk about what's troubling you.
Don't try to control everything: There are many things in life that are uncontrollable, especially the actions of other people. Instead of trying to control others, focus on how you are handling a situation.
Look for the upside: a positive attitude goes a long way to relieving stress.
Learn to forgive: Accept that we don't live in a perfect world, and no one is perfect. Let go of anger and resentment.
Set aside relaxation time: include rest and relaxation time into your daily schedule. Don't let anything else deter you from this. You need time each day to take a break from responsibility.
Connect with others: Spend time with positive people. A strong support system will act as a buffer from the negative effects of stress.
Do something you enjoy every day: Take time for leisure activities and things you enjoy doing every day.
Laugh: Laugh often. This includes laughing at yourself. Laughter helps the body in a number of healthful ways.
Get enough sleep: If you're well rested, you're more able to deal with every day stress.

It's when those feelings don't pass quickly, and they hang on for weeks or even months at a time that we need to seek outside help. Breading For Fresh Fish
This recipe is one that my mother-in-law taught me when I first married into the family. Before I met my husband, I didn't eat fish.....at all. Now, I have no choice. He's a huge fisherman, and there's always fish in our freezer. I have to admit, there isn't much that tastes better than fresh perch or walleye deep-fried, cole slaw, potatoes, and buttered bread!
Make sure all the bones are cut out of the fillets. I hate eating around fish bones!
Break two eggs in a bowl and beat lightly.
Put some flour on a plate.
Crush a package of saltine crackers and place on another plate.
Coat fillets in flour. Dip fillets in beaten egg. Cover both sides of fillet with crushed crackers. Deep fry immediately until fish is done and flaky.
You can add whatever spices you think you might like to the flour to enhance the flavor, but the plain version is very delicious!
Serve tartar sauce on the side.

HEPA Vacuums for an Allergy-Free Home
Having a son and a husband that suffer from asthma and allergies, I have to keep ahead of the game when it comes to housecleaning. Having an allergy-free home is important, so they know that they can be safe and comfortable in their own home.
Air purifiers, HEPA vacuum cleaners, odorless cleaning supplies, odorless laundry soap, etc. are just some of the things I use in order to keep the house free of allergens that may cause an attack. In addition to these things, I keep windows closed when our lawn or any neighbor's lawn is being mowed.
Something else that makes a big difference is changing the filters in those air purifiers and HEPA vacuum cleaners on a regular basis. A dirty filter does not let the appliance work the way it should to keep the air clean.
There are quite a few products on the market to prevent allergens and allergies from disrupting your life. The things I've listed here are just a start. Seriously think about getting an air purifier or a HEPA vacuum cleaner if you or anyone in your home suffers from asthma or allergies. You'll be glad you did, knowing that even if you had a bad allergy day outside the home, you can come home and feel comfortable.

Homemade Hummingbird Nectar Recipe
I love the birds. I have feeders all over my yard. I could sit and watch them coming and going, feeding and flying, all day long. I especially like the hummingbirds that frequent my feeders. For such small birds, they sure can eat a lot!
Instead of buying the hummingbird nectar from the store, I make my own. This recipe works for the orioles too, just put it in an oriole feeder. The hummingbirds love it, and it saves me tons of money since I refill their feeders at least twice a week!
Hummingbird Nectar Recipe
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup water.
Boil water. Remove from heat and add sugar. Stir until dissolved completely. Let cool, then fill feeders.
The average store bought feeder will hold approximately two cups of nectar. You can make extra and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week. Since there are no preservatives in this recipe, you should empty any remaining food from the feeders once a week and clean the feeders, then refill.
Do not add food coloring.
