My husband is a big fan of the McDonalds Fillet-o-Fish sandwich. He orders it just about every time we go to McDonalds. I went online and found a recipe for the tartar sauce that pretty much tastes the same as theirs. Matter of fact, that's what is on the menu for tonight. If you're a fan, here's the recipe.
2 tbsp. mayo
2 tsp. sweet pickle relish
2 tsp. minced onion
pinch of salt
2 Mrs. Paul's frozen fish fillets (the square ones)
2 American cheese slices
2 Buns
Combine the mayo, relish, minced onions, and salt. Do this at least an hour before you're ready to eat to give the ingredients time to mingle. Place in fridge.
You can bake the fish, but for an authentic taste, frying them in oil is better.
Toast the inside of each bun lightly.
Place cheese on bottom bun, top with fish fillet, tartar sauce, and top bun.
This recipe makes two sandwiches.
