Rotisserie Chicken

Have you ever had one of those whole chickens that are already cooked from the deli of your favorite grocery store? You know the ones I'm talking about, right? The ones that are cooked on a rotisserie for a couple of hours and are so tender and juicy you could devour the whole chicken all by yourself?

Well, my kids absolutely love these chickens. We will pick one up every once in a while along with some mashed potatoes and gravy when I don't feel like cooking. The kids think it's a special treat.

This weekend, my mom and I went to a couple of garage sales and I found a like-new George Foreman rotisserie for $2! I brought it home, cleaned it up, and bought a chicken to make for supper tonight.

Let me tell you! It was the best chicken I ever had! I bought a five pound chicken, covered it in olive oil, seasoned salt, pepper, and Accent, and cooked it for about 2 1/2 hours. It turned, and turned, cooking to perfection with no help from me! We had mashed potatoes and gravy, and some mixed veggies with it.

If you don't have a rotisserie, take my advice and invest in one! Even if you can't get the deal I got at the garage sale, they are well worth the money to buy it new. And they aren't just for chicken, either. They come with a basket that you can cook salmon or steak, or burgers. And the best thing? All the fat and grease drip off as the food turns, so it's healthier for you!

I wish I had thought to take a picture of my masterpiece chicken, but it was devoured before I even got a chance to think about it!
