If you are on Medicare and it doesn't cover everything you need, you might think about taking out extra coverage, often called a medigap plan. A medigap plan is a Medicare supplemental policy that fills in the gaps in original Medicare coverage.
Some of the things Medicare might not cover are co-pays and deductibles for hospitalization, doctor visits and other medical services. By paying the plan premiums, there are little if any out of pocket expenses.
